We all know that one aspect of success is hard work. But continuing to work hard day in and day out can be boring and draining. There’s also the snags that we hit in life that can influence us to stop working. It can come in the form of a rejection letter, a pink slip, or the promotion that is always given to other people rather than you.

We all know that the answer is to just keep positive and motivated, but motivation is not a simple switch in your body that you can turn on every time. It’s a process which involves work. Long term motivation cannot be accomplished by just listening to Eye of the Tiger for 4 minutes, you must live as Rocky did and power through every challenge and opponent! I will now share with you motivational secrets from millionaires.

Read Books

Staying inspired, as I said, is not great in small doses. A single pep talk in front of the mirror can help you through a meeting, but it cannot sustain years of stimulating work. One of the best things that you can do to stay motivated is to regularly read books from people who have done it before. You can read during lunch or break times, but the best time to read is before going to bed. Whatever you read and think about is what makes up your dream which energizes you to work harder in the morning. There are a lot of choices from great writers and successful people; here are some of the best quotes from their books:

“I will live this day as if it is my last. This day is all I have and these hours are now my eternity. I greet this sunrise with cries of joy as a prisoner who is reprieved from death. I lift mine arms with thanks for this priceless gift of a new day.”

-          From The Greatest Salesman in the World by Og Mandino

“Action is a great restorer and builder of confidence. Inaction is not only the result, but the cause, of fear. Perhaps the action you take will be successful; perhaps different action or adjustments will have to follow. But any action is better than no action at all.”

-          From The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale

“If you can’t, you must. If you must, you can.” – From Awaken the Giant Within by Anthony Robbins

Study Motivation

Staying pumped is not magic, but I’m very sure that it is science. And with any kind of science, it can be studied and learned. We are all motivated by certain things. Others are motivated because of praise. While some work harder due to the fear of failing. Personally, I get energized if others are doing better than me. I always want to stay on top and that challenges me to become better than others. Sometimes I do great, and sometimes I fall short, but the important thing is, I did the work and never slacked. Find the cues, reasons, and stimulants for you to keep pushing on. When you know what drives you, it’ll be easier to get inspired.
